Summary

Rent Item’s Software Engineers for web application development will be responsible for building our rental marketplace web application. The Software Engineer for web will also help initiate new features and functionality and work with other members of the team to ensure our rental community’s experience is continuing to improve and receive better digital tools.

As a Rent Items’ Software Engineer for web technology, you should be highly proficient in building software applications that provide a best of breed user experience. This requires being a creative, analytical, and user-focused thinker. He or she should be able to meet aggressive deadlines and be a good problem solver.


Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve our software.
  • Help manage web-based technical project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
  • Be able to share the latest technology advancements

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.
  • Solid experience with several general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, C#, Objective C, Python, JavaScript, Swift, Ruby on Rails, or Go.
  • Solid experience with web application development projects.
  • Solid experience working with the following: machine learning, information retrieval, artificial intelligence (AI), networking, developing large software systems, and/or security software development.
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant mobile application development experience using the latest technology and tools.
  • Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
  • Has the ability to work on both web and mobile application development projects.
