Chief Operating Officer


Summary

Rent Items’ COO will be responsible for overseeing all day to day activity and reporting to the CEO to ensure the company is operating efficiently and effectively. The COO will also help lead the company’s largest business related initiatives. The COO will champion efforts in the areas of fundraising, strategic partnerships, developing and executing core strategic plans, product development, and leading people through our logistical and operational challenges.

The COO should be able to think strategically and excel at consistent follow-through and execution. He or she should be able to develop aggressive strategic business plans and tactfully lead them through execution. Most importantly, he or she must be able to lead teams in a manner that creates a high level of engagement, a pursuit of excellence in work product, and comradery within the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Determine Rent Items' greatest business needs and implement solutions to resolve them.
  • Manage all general day to day operations.
  • Develop others personally and professionally by using strong leadership skills.
  • Build strong relationships and bridges among all areas of the organization.
  • Work closely with C-level leadership to solve business and technical challenges.
  • Be an encourager by maintaining a positive can do and will do attitude under pressure.
  • Stay abreast of the latest technology advancements and marketplace activity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS degree in Computer Science, or Business degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Significant experience with growing a business from infancy or within a large corporation.
  • Significant experience with a technology based operation or equivalent practical experience.
  • Has experience leading highly creative and technical cross-functional teams.
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s, PhD degree, further education or experience in engineering, computer science, and/or business.
  • Has a strong sense of business acumen in how to commercialize a technology product.
  • Interest and ability to learn new things and have new experiences.
